How to look after your Adele
An E61 dual boiler machine is backflushed daily with water and weekly with cleaning detergent, and the group gasket is replaced about once a year. The brew boiler holds the right temperature via PID, so there is no need for a cooling flush. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Tower Adele
Select Options > Settings > Water inlet and set it to RETE (mains). Connect the hose to the mains water supply; the pump pressure is then adjusted as described in the manual.
Torre specifies a water hardness of 7–14 °dH and recommends a water filter or water softener if needed, as limescale can seriously damage the machine.
Put the blind basket in the portafilter, lock it in and run for 4–5 seconds. Repeat a few times if needed.

- Purge and wipe the steam wand after every use
- Backflush with water and a blind basket
- Rinse the portafilter and basket, empty the drip tray

- Steam tip in milk system cleaner

- Replace the group gasket and shower screen
- Lubricate the cam
- Replace the tank filter (every 2–3 months)
- Replace the cartridge if plumbed in (according to capacity)

Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
Can be plumbed in
Your Adele has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
