Wiedemann Manufaktur proudly presents the Wiedecent Tamper - an essential component in your quest for the perfect espresso. Made with precision and care in southern Germany, this tamper offers a unique combination of functionality and aesthetics. Thanks to the innovative design with a movable leveling plate, achieving straight tamping becomes easy, and with a calibrated spring that ensures identical tamping every time, you eliminate the risk of over- or under-tamping.
Our tamper is compatible with all standard 58mm portafilter, developed in collaboration with Decent Espresso to ensure a perfect fit and function. With the base manufactured to a precision of 0.05mm on a computer-controlled lathe, not a mold, we offer a tamper that feels robust and comfortable in hand. The large, rounded handle retains the feel of natural wood, and thanks to its design, it is easy to disassemble for cleaning.
A well-fitting tamper is crucial to avoid untamped rings of coffee, which leads to channeling and poorly tasting espresso. Our tamper is calibrated to perfection, with tests showing that the coffee is fully compressed at 15 lbs - more pressure is not necessary. This reduces the risk of muscle and joint strains as well as repetitive stress injuries while ensuring a smooth and consistent tamping every time.
