Maintenance
How to look after your Bicocca
A dual boiler without an E61 group, such as the Rocket R Nine One and Bicocca or the Profitec Drive, Ride and Pro 300, is backflushed regularly and does best with the right water. The temperature is controlled by PID, so there is no need for a cooling flush. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Rocket Bicocca
ECO mode is active from the factory. After 30 minutes without use all elements are switched off and you cannot brew until you wake the machine.
Rocket advises against descaling and refers you to an authorised workshop. Change the water in the boiler at least once a month, or every other week with heavy use.
The machine is set to tank at the factory. You switch to a plumbed-in water connection via the touchscreen.

Wear parts for Rocket Bicocca
Original parts that fit your model. Replace the group gasket and shower screen every 6–12 months. How to replace them
Upgrades
A bottomless portafilter shows you instantly if your coffee is channelling. A spring-loaded tamper, a distribution tool and a precision basket give you more even extraction, shot after shot.
Accessories for your Bicocca
Original accessories and wooden trim made specifically for your machine.
Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
Can be plumbed in
Your Bicocca has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
