Maintenance
How to look after your Drive
A dual boiler without an E61 group, such as the Rocket R Nine One and Bicocca or the Profitec Drive, Ride and Pro 300, is backflushed regularly and does best with the right water. The temperature is controlled by PID, so there is no need for a cooling flush. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Profitec Drive
With Fast Heating activated, the machine is ready after about 12–13 minutes.
You change the water source with the rotary valve and at the same time set Tank Mode in the menu.
Profitec recommends fresh, soft drinking water of no more than 4 °dH. You set the filter reminder in the menu.

Wear parts for Profitec Drive
Original parts that fit your model. Replace the group gasket and shower screen every 6–12 months. How to replace them
Upgrades
A bottomless portafilter shows you instantly if your coffee is channelling. A spring-loaded tamper, a distribution tool and a precision basket give you more even extraction, shot after shot.
Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
Can be plumbed in
Your Drive has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
