How to look after your Giotto R Fast
An E61 heat exchanger machine does best with daily backflushing with water, detergent once a week and a new group gasket about once a year. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Rocket Giotto R Fast
Rocket specifies 12–15 minutes before the group head is fully warmed up. Wait until then before brewing your first cup.
Rocket advises against descaling and refers you to an authorised workshop. Instead, change the water in the boiler at least once a month, or every other week with heavy use.
A plumbed-in water connection is only available on the R versions. You choose between tank and plumbed-in in the display settings.

Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
Can be plumbed in
Your Giotto R Fast has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
