Maintenance
How to look after your Aquila
An E61 heat exchanger machine does best with daily backflushing with water, detergent once a week and a new group gasket about once a year. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Quick Mill Aquila
The tap under the machine selects the water source: position tanica for the tank and rete for the mains supply.
The Aquila switches to low-energy mode if you have not brewed coffee for 20 minutes.
Quick Mill says you should fill the tank with soft, clean water and use a water softener if your tap water is hard.

Wear parts for Quick Mill Aquila
Original parts that fit your model. Replace the group gasket and shower screen every 6–12 months. How to replace them
Upgrades
A bottomless portafilter shows you instantly if your coffee is channelling. A spring-loaded tamper, a distribution tool and a precision basket give you more even extraction, shot after shot.
Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
Can be plumbed in
Your Aquila has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
