How to look after your Appartamento TCA
An E61 heat exchanger machine does best with daily backflushing with water, detergent once a week and a new group gasket about once a year. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Rocket Appartamento TCA
Rocket specifies 15–18 minutes before the group head is fully warmed up. Leave the portafilter in the group so that it stays warm.
Rocket does not recommend descaling because the descaler can cause corrosion. Use soft water and a filter, and have an authorised workshop descale it if needed.
The TCA goes into standby after 30 minutes without use. Lift the brew lever to wake it up.

- Purge and wipe the steam wand after each use

Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Do not use distilled water; the machine needs minerals for the level sensor to work.
