How to look after your Altea Anniversary
A commercial machine with 1–3 groups, such as the Rocket Boxer, La Nuova Era Altea or Elektra, runs for many hours a day. Backflush each group with cleaning detergent at closing, clean the steam wands and the drain daily, and always run it on filtered water. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the La Nuova Era Altea Anniversary
The machine is connected to 400V 3x10A. Have an electrician prepare the socket before installation.
The Altea Anniversario has an energy-saving mode and automatic switch-on and switch-off, so the boiler is hot when you open without being on all night.

- Backflush each group with cleaning detergent at closing
- Soak the portafilters and baskets, clean the steam wands
- Wash the drip tray and grate, flush the drain with hot water
- Brush the group gaskets and shower screens

- Soak the shower screens in cleaning detergent
- Clean the hot water spout
- Check that the drain hose runs freely
- Check the group gaskets

- Check the water filter capacity
- Measure the water hardness after the filter
- Check the pressure gauges

- Replace the group gaskets and shower screens (every 3–6 months)
- Replace the BWT cartridge according to capacity, at least every 12 months
- Service by a technician according to your volume

Upgrades
A bottomless portafilter shows you instantly if your coffee is channelling. A spring-loaded tamper, a distribution tool and a precision basket give you more even extraction, shot after shot.
Water and filters
The right water protects your machine
The target is 2–4 °dH. Replace the cartridge according to its capacity, but at least every 12 months, and measure the hardness after the filter.
Can be plumbed in
Your Altea Anniversary has a rotary pump and can be connected directly to the mains water supply. We recommend BWT Bestmax with an installation kit.
