Day hopper in wood and acrylic

Today’s portion of beans, visible through crystal-clear acrylic with a handcrafted wooden lid.

Craftsmanship from southern Germany

Wiedemann Manufaktur is a German brand that combines precision, functionality and genuine craftsmanship for coffee enthusiasts. Every detail is turned and sanded by hand, giving the wood and metal a feel you notice immediately when you lift off the lid.

Here you’ll find the containers that replace the grinder’s large original hopper. Instead of leaving half a kilo of beans to oxidize in light and air, fill it with what you’re actually going to brew today while the rest of the bag remains sealed. The result is fresher coffee in the cup and a grinder that takes up less space on the counter, both visually and in height beneath the kitchen cabinet.

Built for today’s portion

The combination of transparent acrylic and solid wood lets you see the bean level without opening the lid.

Acrylic with handcrafted wooden lid

Holds 30–50 g of beans, roughly the amount needed for today’s espresso, and noticeably reduces the grinder’s total height compared with the original hopper.

Fits selected ECM and Mazzer grinders

The container is shaped to fit the mounts on ECM and Mazzer, not a universal model. Check your grinder model before ordering so everything fits tightly from day one. If you’re unsure which variant you have, send us a message with the model name, and we’ll reply with the right choice.

Questions and answers

What we most often hear about wooden and acrylic bean hoppers.

Categories

How many beans does it hold?

Approximately 30–50 g, or two to four double espressos depending on the dose. The idea is that you grind what you drink during the day and leave the rest of the beans in their sealed bag, where they retain their aroma significantly longer.

Does it fit my grinder?

The model is designed for selected grinders from ECM and Mazzer and uses the grinder’s existing hopper mount. Since mounts differ between generations, we recommend comparing your model designation with the information on the product page or contacting us before purchasing.

Can I grind directly with it attached?

Yes. Fill it with beans, put on the lid, and grind as usual. The lower height also often allows the grinder to fit under a kitchen cabinet, which the original hopper rarely does.

How do I care for the wood and acrylic?

Wipe the acrylic with a soft, slightly damp cloth without solvents or alcohol, which can cause scratches and a dull surface. The wood is best kept dry and can be refreshed over time with a drop of food-safe oil. No part should be washed in a dishwasher.
