ORIGAMI drippers in Japanese design

Born from baristas’ desire for a better cup.

The Story Behind ORIGAMI

ORIGAMI was born from baristas’ desire for better coffee tools. The brand was developed at a time when interest in Specialty coffee was growing rapidly, with the ambition of creating professional products adapted to modern brewing. The starting point was to work closely with baristas, learn from their needs, and develop together with them.

A large part of the production takes place in Toki City in Gifu, an area known for its long tradition of Mino ceramics. It was also there that the first dripper took shape. The design was inspired by the balloon flower, the city’s flower, and refined through repeated testing until it featured the 20 ribs that characterize the series today. Over time, ORIGAMI has become a name used by baristas around the world, appreciated for its consistent quality, thoughtful design, and ability to combine function with a clear visual identity.

In this collection, you’ll mainly find two expressions of the same brewing concept: porcelain models for those who appreciate weight and a classic feel, and lighter AS resin versions that are especially well suited when you want low weight at home, in the office, or on the go. All main models are made in Japan, designed for 2–4 cups, compatible with both conical filters and wave paper filters, and designed to provide good air circulation and controlled water flow through their characteristic 20-ribbed shape.

In porcelain

This part of the series is for you if you want a more classic feel in your hand and at your brewing station. All three variants are based on the same brewing shape, so the choice is mainly about colour and style rather than function.

Wooden holder

A lacquered acacia holder for those who want to give their brewing station a warmer, more handcrafted look. It is especially well suited when the feel of the material is just as important as functionality, but it should be hand-washed because it is not dishwasher-safe.

Practical ring for stable placement

This is the choice for those who prioritize easy everyday use. The ring is designed for ORIGAMI Dripper S and M and helps the dripper stand horizontally for more even extraction. Since it is microwave- and dishwasher-safe, it is especially convenient in kitchens where the equipment is used frequently.

Frequently asked questions

Here you will find short answers that make it easier to choose the right model and the right accessories.

What is the difference between porcelain and AS resin?

The porcelain models are for those who want a more traditional feel, a little more weight, and a distinctly ceramic look. The AS resin models are significantly lighter and better suited when you want to move your equipment between the kitchen, office, or while traveling. The brewing format is essentially the same, so the choice of material is primarily about how you use it and the feel you prefer.

Which filters and accessories are compatible with the series?

All main models in this collection work with both conical filters and wave paper filters, making it easy to adjust the brewing to your preferences. If you want to add a holder, you can choose between a wooden version with a warmer look or a plastic ring that is easier to care for and is both microwave- and dishwasher-safe.
