Precise dosing with timer function

M42M R operates with two programmable timers: one for single espresso and one for double. In timer mode, one press of the red button gives a single dose and two presses give a double dose. In manual mode, hold the portafilter against the button until the desired amount of coffee has been ground. This is a solution we like for those who want to switch between quick service and more hands-on control.

Stepless grind setting for optimal extraction

The grind size is adjusted steplessly via the knob on the top of the grinder, accessible from both the front and back. Turn clockwise for coarser grind and counterclockwise for finer. Small adjustments often go a long way when the base setting is correct. A practical rule of thumb is that beans with a higher proportion of arabica often require a slightly finer grind, while a higher proportion of robusta may work better with a slightly coarser setting.

Capacity & bean container

The bean container holds 500 grams of espresso beans, which corresponds to about 50 espressos per full container. For the best flavor, we still recommend only filling it with the amount of coffee used within a few days, so the aroma is better preserved and oxidation is minimized. The container can also be removed even when it contains beans, which simplifies cleaning and maintenance.

Design & user-friendliness

The slim, matte black design allows the grinder to fit next to most espresso machines without visually dominating the workspace. The power switch is easily accessible near the outlet for simple start and stop.
