Care Instructions
Baratza has designed the grinder for cleaning and maintenance at home. Approximately every 4–6 weeks, we recommend removing the bean hopper and the upper burr, grinding out remaining beans, and brushing away loose coffee dust and residues from the burr chamber and chute. The bean hopper and grind container can be washed in warm water with dish soap and should be completely dry before reassembling.
In case of a jam, always unplug the grinder before removing the bean container and the upper grind burr. Then use the handle of a brush or a similar small, stiff tool to gently push out packed coffee from the chute. Reassemble the grinder and first test on a very coarse grind setting. For the best long-term function, Baratza recommends avoiding overfilling the grinder, grinding already ground coffee again, using very oily or flavored beans, and letting frozen beans thaw before grinding.
