Care Instructions

After brewing, we recommend chilling the coffee in the refrigerator before serving, or serving it over plenty of ice for the best flavor experience. It is also wise to adjust the drip rate during brewing as the water level in the upper container drops, so the extraction remains even. One thing to keep in mind is that this method is for those who enjoy the process as much as the result – it is not the right choice if you want coffee ready quickly.

Brewing Process

For best results, start by dosing about 10 grams of coffee per 100 ml of finished coffee. For a 500 ml brew, this means 50 grams of coffee in the stainless steel filter. We recommend a grind size similar to regular drip coffee as a starting point, then you can adjust finer or coarser depending on the beans and desired flavor profile.

Fill the upper glass container with ice and cold water. Then adjust the valve so that the water drips slowly through the coffee, ideally about 1 drop per second or every 1.5 seconds. During brewing, the flow may need fine-tuning, especially as the water level drops. When brewing is complete, the coffee stays at room temperature and benefits from being chilled before serving.

Brewing tips

The included stainless steel filter is designed to be used without paper filters, providing a clean cup with distinct character. If you want to further influence the flow, you can add a paper filter under the coffee or on top of the bed for more even water distribution. Brewing time is usually between 3 and 5 hours, depending on drip rate and how intense a flavor you want to achieve.

If you want cold brew coffee with a clear artisanal feel, this is a beautiful and well-thought-out brewer that does the job as well as it looks.
