How to look after your Sette 270Wi
A grind-by-weight grinder, such as the Eureka Mignon Libra, Atom W or Baratza Sette 270Wi and Forte, needs the same cleaning as other grinders, plus a clean fork and a scale that is calibrated when the weight drifts. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Baratza Sette 270Wi
Baratza recommends having the motor running when you change the macro or micro setting. This protects the burr set and gives a smoother adjustment.
The scale in the 270Wi is calibrated on delivery. If needed, a single-point calibration is carried out with a 500 g calibration weight as described in the manual.
Baratza warns that the burrs will rust if washed with water. Brush them clean with a stiff brush or use grinder cleaning tablets.

Every day
- Brush coffee off the fork and the scale
- Brush out the spout
- Wipe the grinder with a dry cloth

- Grind cleaning pellets, for example Cafetto GC2
- Empty the bean hopper and wash it by hand
- Check the weight with your own scale

- Open the grinder and brush the burrs
- Check the scale with a calibration weight
- Calibrate the scale if the weight drifts

After 300–500 kg
- Replace the burrs according to the manufacturer's kg figure
- Calibrate the zero point after replacement
- Run in new burrs with cheaper beans
