Gringo was founded in 2018 by Johan Ekfeldt, Pernilla Ekfeldt, and Magnus Aljeå – a team with extensive experience in specialty coffee and flavor. Johan was previously involved in founding Johan & Nyström, one of Sweden's most influential roasteries within the third wave coffee movement. After many years in the industry, they wanted to create something new: a smaller, more honest roastery with the heart remaining in the craft and the reality of coffee farmers.

With roots in Gothenburg and a love for the Nordic roasting ideal, we roast coffee that highlights the bean's natural flavor profile – clear, fresh, and balanced. We believe in long-term relationships with producers, and that good taste starts with good values. Our roastery and shop are an open place for those who want to learn more about coffee – and why it matters where it comes from.
