Water filter to keep your machine free of lime deposits and get the best possible taste
BWT's Bestmax Premium filter cartridge is an all-in-one water purification solution. Excellent for filtering water for hot drinks such as coffee, espresso Bestmax Premium is a modular multi-stage filter that uses the patent BWT Mg2 + technology. This unique feature mineralizes the filtered water with magnesium, a known flavor enhancer that can be lost when using other filtration methods.
Bestmax Premium uses the five-layer filtration process described below:
- Particle pre-filter - Separation of coarse particles such as sand and rust.
- Activated carbon pre-filter - Elimination of oxidants, protection of the ion exchanger against aging.
- High performance ion exchanger - Removal of hardening substances, adjustment of mineral balance.
- Activated carbon fist - Elimination of organic matter, chlorine, foreign odor and foreign taste.
- Particle fine filter - Separation of fine particles and suspended matter.
The Bestmax Premium filter also reduces scale build-up inside espresso-machines and coffee systems, dramatically reduces the need for peeling.
Filter capacity
Depending on the hardness of the water, the total capacity of your filter varies. The capacities below are approximate for a filter used for one espresso-machine.
- Max Capacity: 49.98 ppm / 7 °DTH (total hardness) At filter setting 3, the maximum capacity is 2570 liters
- Min Capacity: 178.5 ppm / 25+ °DTH (total hardness) When setting filters 1, the maximum capacity is 585 liters
Note: Regardless of the total amount of water running through the cartridge recommends BWT that you replace your filter after a maximum of 12 months.
