How to look after your Twist A54
A flat burr grinder, such as the Eureka Mignon, Rocket Faustino or Macap M42, needs daily brushing, regular cleaning pellets and new burrs after the number of kilos specified by the manufacturer. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Profitec Twist A54
Profitec states that the grind should be adjusted while the grinder is running, including after cleaning and reassembling the burr set.
According to Profitec, the burrs normally need replacing after 400–500 kg of ground coffee.
In Select Mode, the single dose is preset to 7 seconds and the double to 11.5 seconds. Single Dose Mode is set between 20 and 60 seconds; hold the button for 3 seconds to programme.

Every day
- Brush out the spout and around the fork
- Wipe the grinder with a dry cloth
- Check the dose with a scale after changing the grind

- Grind cleaning pellets, for example Cafetto GC2
- Empty the bean hopper and wash it by hand
- Brush away coffee around the adjustment dial

- Open the grinder and brush the burrs
- Brush the grinding chamber and the adjustment thread
- Check the zero point

After 250–500 kg
- Replace the burrs according to the manufacturer's kg figure
- Calibrate the zero point after replacement
- Run in new burrs with cheaper beans
