How to look after your Leo 55 Touch
A flat burr grinder, such as the Eureka Mignon, Rocket Faustino or Macap M42, needs daily brushing, regular cleaning pellets and new burrs after the number of kilos specified by the manufacturer. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Macap Leo 55 Touch
The grind is set steplessly, which makes it easy to make small changes for each bean.
The times for single and double doses are set on the touchscreen. Adjust them when you change the grind setting.
-
Every day
- Brush out the spout and around the fork
- Wipe the grinder with a dry cloth
- Check the dose with a scale after changing the grind
-
Every week
- Grind cleaning pellets, for example Cafetto GC2
- Empty the bean hopper and wash it by hand
- Brush away coffee around the adjustment dial
-
Every month
- Open the grinder and brush the burrs
- Brush the grinding chamber and the adjustment thread
- Check the zero point
-
After 250–500 kg
- Replace the burrs according to the manufacturer's kg figure
- Calibrate the zero point after replacement
- Run in new burrs with cheaper beans
