How to look after your Mignon Specialità Smart
A flat burr grinder, such as the Eureka Mignon, Rocket Faustino or Macap M42, needs daily brushing, regular cleaning pellets and new burrs after the number of kilos specified by the manufacturer. Here is the schedule and the products we recommend.
Good to know about the Eureka Mignon Specialità Smart
The Burrs Distance Detection System shows the distance between the burrs in real time with a precise zero point. The adjustment has 300 steps of about 3.33 micrometres.
Up to 8 recipes can be saved, and SMART Technology suggests adjustments based on the current and desired extraction time.
The stepless micrometric adjustment is retained when the burrs are removed for cleaning.

Every day
- Brush out the spout and around the fork
- Wipe the grinder with a dry cloth
- Check the dose with a scale after changing the grind

- Grind cleaning pellets, for example Cafetto GC2
- Empty the bean hopper and wash it by hand
- Brush away coffee around the adjustment dial

- Open the grinder and brush the burrs
- Brush the grinding chamber and the adjustment thread
- Check the zero point

After 250–500 kg
- Replace the burrs according to the manufacturer's kg figure
- Calibrate the zero point after replacement
- Run in new burrs with cheaper beans
