The story behind Mr. Mengeche Derso - Ethiopia

This lot comes from Mr. Mengeche Derso, a single producer in the Gedeo zone, southern Ethiopia. A total of approximately 15 hectares of heirloom Arabica are grown at high altitudes (2,200–2,350 m.a.s.l.), in an area world-famous for Yirgacheffe – known for its elegance and florality. Mr. Mengeche has extensive experience and has been recognized locally for his quality-focused cultivation. The family is involved in the work and uses natural fertilizers such as animal manure and crop residues to nourish the soil.

This microlot is part of a Single Farmer Project that enables full traceability and fair pricing to the producer. In the cup, a clean and aromatic profile awaits with hibiscus, red apple and brown sweetness – a brilliant interpretation of Yirgacheffe’s classic, floral expression.
