Macap M42M R Black is a semi-professional on-demand coffee grinder that combines precision, ease of use, and sleek design. With a built-in timer and stepless grind adjustment, you get precisely dosed, freshly ground coffee directly into the portafilter – every time. Perfect for small cafés, restaurants, and ambitious home baristas who demand consistent quality in every espresso.

The grinder grinds about 2 grams per second, making it fast enough even when the pace picks up.

Smart dosing with timer or manual control

The M42M R Black is equipped with two pre-programmed grind times – one for a single espresso and one for a double. Via the switch labeled:

• T (Timer) – activates preset doses
• M (Manual) – gives full control over grind time

In timer mode, one press of the red button delivers a single dose and two presses deliver a double dose. In manual mode, hold the portafilter against the button until the desired amount of coffee is ground.

The grind time is easily adjusted with the numbered dial (1–4) located at the outlet – a higher number means a longer grind time.

Stepless grind size for perfect extraction

The 58 mm flat burrs provide uniform particle size, efficient grinding, and long durability. The grind size is adjusted steplessly via the dial on the top of the grinder, accessible from both front and back.

• Clockwise → coarser grind
• Counterclockwise → finer grind

For optimal espresso, the brewing should take about 25 seconds for 25 ml. Small adjustments are usually enough when the base setting is close to correct.

As a rule of thumb:

• More Arabica → slightly finer grind
• More Robusta → slightly coarser grind

Bean hopper & freshness

The bean hopper holds 500 grams, which corresponds to about 50 espressos. To preserve aroma and reduce oxidation, it is recommended to only fill the amount of beans that will be used within a few days.

The bean intake is controlled via a practical shut-off plate that slides forward to block the opening. This allows the bean hopper to be removed even when it contains beans – convenient for cleaning or servicing.

Easy cleaning & maintenance

For internal cleaning:

1. Remove the bean hopper
2. Pour coffee grinder cleaning agent into the grinder mechanism
3. Replace the hopper
4. Grind until the residues are gone

Cleaning is recommended about once a month, depending on usage.

The matte black finish is both elegant and practical – coffee dust and fingerprints are minimally visible, and the surface can be easily wiped without leaving marks.
