The story behind EI Mirador - 250g

El Mirador is an expressive and fruity coffee grown by Elkin Ferney Guzman Vargas on his farm in Huila, Colombia.

The Orange Bourbon variety gives the coffee a naturally intense fruitiness and complex sweetness, while the sibling, organically fertilized soil and altitudes between 1,615 and 1,700 meters highlight the coffee's full potential.

The coffee is naturally processed and has a low acidity with flavor notes of brown sugar, orange, chocolate, plum, raisin, and pineapple. It is clean and balanced in the cup, with a light wine-like mouthfeel that adds depth and elegance.

Roasted with precision by Budhas Kafferosteri in a Giesen W15, to an Agtron value of 69.9, which emphasizes the coffee's natural sweetness and vibrant aromas.

The coffee process

1. Origin & Farm

The coffee is grown at El Mirador Farm by Elkin Ferney Guzman Vargas in Huila, Colombia – an area known for its aromatic and sweet specialty coffees. The farm works with organic fertilization and sustainable farming methods.

2. Process

Natural process – the cherries are allowed to dry with the fruit intact on raised beds, which creates a naturally sweet and fruity profile with deep complexity.

3. Roasting & Brewing

Roasted by Budha in a Giesen W15, with a light to medium roast profile (Agtron 69.9) that preserves the coffee's elegance and aroma. Perfectly suited for pour-over brewers such as V60, Kalita or Pour over.
