The story behind Pink Bourbon - 250g

This Pink Bourbon coffee from Finca La Cristalina in Caldas, Colombia is grown by Luis José Valdés – a producer who works with organic fertilization and sustainable cultivation methods in a tropical microclimate.

The Pink Bourbon variety is known for its intense fruitiness and elegant sweetness, which is enhanced through the natural processing method. The coffee is dried with the fruit pulp intact, creating a complex and sweet profile with notes of orange, passion fruit, raisin, mango, strawberry, and pineapple – balanced by chocolate and brown sugar in the finish.

The roasting is carried out by Budhas Kafferosteri in their Giesen W15, with an Agtron value of 70.4 – a roast profile that provides balance, clarity, and a clean cup.

The coffee's process

1. Origin & farm

The coffee comes from Finca La Cristalina, located in Caldas, Colombia, at altitudes between 1,250 and 1,650 meters above sea level. The farm uses organic fertilizer and works with sustainable farming principles to develop flavorful and vigorous beans.

2. Process

The coffee is naturally processed – which means the beans are slowly dried with the fruit pulp still attached. This gives a tropical sweetness and fruitiness, while the mouthfeel remains clean and balanced.

3. Roasting & brewing

Roasted by Budha in a Giesen W15, with Agtron 70.4 – a light to medium roast that highlights the coffee’s natural fruitiness and acidity. Suitable for all types of electric and manual brewers, such as V60, Kalita, Moccamaster, and Pour over.
